Ideas
"EPCOT... will take its cue from the new ideas and new technologies that are now emerging from the creative centers of American industry. It will be a community of tomorrow that will never be completed, but will always be introducing and testing and demonstrating new materials and systems..."

Innovating since 1952
Despite tough critics, one of the company’s most respected branches is Disney Imagineering. It emerged in 1952 and has developed cutting edge technology ever since. The division of Disney holds over 115 patents and is responsible for advances such as circle vision 360 film techniques, and fast passes virtual queuing system. It’s plausible to conclude that Disney Imagineering was founded with a purpose to continue Walt Disney’s enthusiasm for innovation (Levine).

Community of Tomorrow
“To all who come to this place of joy, hope and friendship—welcome. EPCOT is inspired by Walt Disney's creative vision. Here, human achievements are celebrated through imagination, wonders of enterprise and concepts of a future that promises new and exciting benefits for all. May EPCOT Center entertain, inform and inspire and above all, may it instill a new sense of belief and pride in man's ability to shape a world that offers hope to people everywhere in the world”
—E. Cardon Walker, October 24, 1982
Epcot was the second of four theme parks built at Disney World. It was Walt’s Utopian city of the future that showcased American free enterprise, industry, research, educational opportunities, and more. The theme park symbolizes one of Walt’s ideas that represent a new future of society, a changing workforce, a new standard of excellence.
"Walt Disney imagined that in the future, open space for growing crops would be very limited due to large population size. He envisioned the people of the future using a system where landscaping would be replaced with beautifully manicured food gardens. These gardens would be pleasing to the eye, but would also provide much needed food and resources. If you look closely at the beautiful landscaping in Tomorrowland, you will indeed find that nearly everything is edible. There are strawberries, lemons, oranges, pineapple, guava, papaya, peppers, kale, and many other edible plants growing there" (Liu).

Other Disney theme parks, cruise lines, and resorts located around the world attract children and adults likewise.
